Always Local - Always Organic

Here at Nature's Harvest Organics, we believe the soil is the basis of all human life and the quality of its care and health affect not only the people who eat the food today, but also those who will depend on the soil in the future. Healthy soil means healthy food.

Currently, we have one partner farm (L.I.F.E Farm) and Homestead Growers.

One of the great icons of CSAs in the midwest is Angelic Organics, serving over 850 shares to the greater Chicago area. Since 1993, John Peterson, director of Angelic Organics in Caledonia, Ill, has been one of the leaders in the growing movement of community supported agriculture-farms that sell shares of their crops to city dwellers. If you have not seen their new film "The Real Dirt on Farmer John", it's a real eye opener.

Angelic Organics really puts it best in these words below, and it is a motto we live by:

"Really Fresh…Really Local"
These days, "fresh" seems to mean fresh off the truck from California, and "local" is anything east of the Rockies, and west of the Atlantic. When we say it, we mean it. For us, fresh means we hand-pick most of the vegetables in your box within 24 hours of its arrival in your neighborhood."

If you sign up for a farm service this summer, make sure it is certified organic and make sure it is local!!
